Why did you enter this pageant? As a young girl growing up in the Portland area I always wanted to be a Junior
Rose Festival Princess but due to financial hardships I was unable to. In High School I wanted to participate in
the Rose Festival Princess Court, but the year I tried out I also broke my leg. I had the pleasure of doing a former
Mrs. Oregon's hair and she shared with me the experience with the Mrs. Oregon America Organization. I have
been involved in many mentoring programs for young children who are adopted and have been able to be a role
model to them and their families. I felt that this would be a great opportunity to bring more awareness to adopted
children and families as well as allowing me to fulfill a dream of my own.

What is your secret to a successful marriage? There is really no secret to a successful marriage, but what works
for my marriage is prayer, understanding, commitment, and determination. We both agree to not try and change
each other but to be supportive of each other as we continue to raise our family and grow together.

As Mrs Oregon America, what would you hope to accomplish? I want to be a spokesperson for our beautiful state
of Oregon. I want to show how women can be a wife and mother; have a career, dreams or become whatever their
hearts desires. Family is so important, children or no children, biological, or adopted, working or staying home,
with prayer and a good family support system, hard work, determination, and a passion for what you believe in,
any and all things can be achieved.
