Why did you enter this pageant?
After many, MANY years behind the scenes in the pageant world, I decided to enter as a contestant myself. I
was empowered to make this decision after a significant weight loss, and due to the self-confidence and
strength I gained during my husband's 13 month combat deployment to Iraq.

What is your secret to a successful marriage?
As a military family, our time together is often limited due to distance or circumstance. Thus, our secret to a
successful marriage is an abundance of patience, communication, and humor. With a deep commitment to
openness and honesty - sometimes spanning thousands of miles - we have found success by appreciating those
precious everyday moments, and laughing.... A LOT.

As Mrs. Oregon America, what would you hope to accomplish?
I would hope to empower the women of Oregon, especially mothers such as myself, to be kind to themselves. I
would encourage them to give back through volunteerism and challenge them to walk in their own grace. As
Mrs. Oregon, I would work to build a healthy, balanced life that models a good marriage relationship, as well as
demonstrating the importance of self.
